TerraExplorer Plus Benefits
Design tools that utilize the full TerraExplorer Pro API
TerraExplorer Plus enables you to run tools and extensions that utilize the full TerraExplorer Pro API. TerraExplorer Plus can be used as a stand-alone application, or as integrated ActiveX components. The license for TerraExplorer Plus can be granted for a specific web site or using the TerraGate Internet License to a list of websites.
Add to the landscape various geographical information layers like state boundaries or freeways networks
With TerraExplorer, you can import feature layers from remote or local databases. Feature layer file types include: SkylineGlobe layer (.fly), Google Earth (.Kml/.Kmz) and ESRI Shape layer (.shp). Feature layer servers include: Web Feature Server (WFS), Skyline Feature Server (SFS), ESRI ArcSDE Server and Oracle Spatial Server. Layers are added to the Fly project as elements in the Information Window that can be toggled on and off.
Import geo-referenced, satellite or aerial images and geo-referenced elevation raster
With TerraExplorer Plus, you can overlay the terrain with imagery layers containing geo-referenced, satellite or aerial images and replace the elevation data of the terrain database with geo-referenced elevation raster. Imported data can be of unlimited size and resolution. Automatic morphing between the terrain imagery and the imagery and elevation layers is performed. Layers you create are saved to GIS standard file formats.
If a source file is not rectified to the same coordinate system as the Terrain Coordinate system that the TerraExplorer uses, the user can reproject it on-the-fly using the built in mechanism. A subsection of a raster file can be displayed by loading a Shape file containing the required clip polygon.
Easily add 2D, 3D, dynamic and terrain objects to your project
TerraExplorer Plus users can create new objects, edit single or multiple objects’ parameters using the properties sheet, edit objects directly in the 3D window, and copy /move/delete objects in the 3D window. The objects are organized in the Project Window’s tree structure.
Analyze your 3D environments
TerraExplorer Plus provides advanced tools for measurement and terrain analysis, including Line of Sight, Viewshed, Threat Dome, Flood Analysis, and Volume Analysis.
Set the appearance of the environment in the 3D Window
You can control the horizon distance, fog color, as well as the sun and moon display. The sun, moon and sun flare objects can be displayed and positioned based on a given date, time and time zone.
Preset or custom sky textures and colors can be applied. An animated cloud layer can be displayed over the entire terrain, with customized altitude, position, density, and movement settings. Reflection and movement effects can be displayed on all sea and ocean terrain.
Share geographical information with others through dynamic presentations
You can create a presentation, in which you navigate through the 3D World, showing or hiding objects on the terrain, following dynamic objects, displaying messages and performing different operations. The presentation route is created either by flying through the terrain recording an exact route or by adding each waypoint separately. An easy to use editor enables you to set step timings and transitions and modify step sequence.
A movie in AVI format can be created from any presentation in your project. This movie can then be played using a standard AVI Viewer or any product that supports AVI format or multi frames format, or even displayed on a TV screen.
Access, manage and organize your raster, feature, projects and other geographic assets
TerraCatalog is a catalog database that stores, organizes and manages connections to raster and feature layers and projects, located on a local disk, on the network, on Oracle or on an SQL Server. When TerraExplorer is connected to TerraCatalog, the catalog can easily be browsed and the required geographic data loaded into a TerraExplorer Project.
